Frequently Asked Questions

How Does Online Physiotherapy Actually Work?

Online physiotherapy brings expert care to your screen. Through virtual sessions, you’ll connect with a qualified physiotherapist who will discuss your concerns, evaluate your condition, and design a personalised treatment plan. These sessions can include exercises, guidance, and ongoing support for your healing journey.

Is Online Physiotherapy as Effective as In-Person Sessions?

Yes! Online physiotherapy has been proven to be as effective as in-person sessions. Research shows that virtual care achieves similar outcomes to face to face appointments. Offering expert guidance, personalised treatment plans, and exercises that cater to your specific needs. See our blog for more information on why it has been so successful.

What Can You Expect from Your First Online Physiotherapy Appointment?

In your first online appointment, you’ll meet your physiotherapist face to face through a virtual platform. You’ll discuss your condition,  concerns and any pain you may be experiencing, as well as your medical history. Your physiotherapist will then provide guidance and a personalised treatment plan. It’s a chance to get immediate reassurance and start your healing journey. If your physiotherapist has any doubts or concerns they will discuss this with you and refer you to your GP or a specialist.

Is Online Physiotherapy Suitable for Sports Injuries?

Absolutely, online physiotherapy is suitable for sports injuries. Virtual sessions offer specialised treatments, exercises, and expert guidance tailored to your specific needs. Whether it’s recovery from an injury or concerns about pain or discomfort, online physiotherapy can help anyone. It doesn’t matter if you have recently taken up a new activity or are a more dedicated sports person.

Online or In-Person: Which Type of Physiotherapy Is Right for You?

The choice depends on your preferences and needs. Both online and in-person physiotherapy offer expert care. Online care eliminates travel hassles and allows you to heal from your space. In-person sessions may involve face-to-face interaction. It’s about what suits you best, we currently only offer online physiotherapy.

Does Online Physiotherapy Offer Personalised Treatment Plans?

Absolutely, all of our care is individually personalised for you. Your physiotherapist tailors exercises, therapies, and guidance to your unique needs. The aim is to provide you with individualised care that fosters optimal healing, this will be adjusted as your treatment progresses and it’s easy to access your treatment plans at any time through the patient portal. You can even set reminders so you are prompted to follow your plan for best results.

How Do I Access It?

Initial appointments and continuing appointments are booked through our website. Once you have seen your physiotherapist you will be given access to your own private patient portal to track your progress. Book here.

Is it Secure and Confidential?

Yes, and we prioritise patient safety and privacy above all else and we ensure everything is secure and confidential. We use encrypted platforms and privacy measures to ensure the safety of your information. We are of course fully GDPR compliant.

What Conditions Can Online Physiotherapy Treat?

Online physiotherapy can address a wide range of conditions. From musculoskeletal issues to sports injuries, pain reduction, and more, virtual sessions offer expert care for various health concerns. Our experienced physiotherapists are here to help you on your healing journey.#

It is natural for us to want to self diagnose and ‘Google it’ but this can lead to unnecessary worry and concerns, it is always better to get a proper diagnosis and reassurance.  Often our patients come to us to establish what their condition is, so don’t worry if you are not sure, that’s exactly what we are here for! In the vast majority of cases we see, there is nothing beyond muscular issues to worry about.

How Many Appointments Will I Need?

It is common to obtain a diagnosis in the first assessment and receive a treatment plan. We encourage self efficacy – you managing your own recovery, as this is proven to get the best results.

Your physiotherapist will want to follow up with you at regular intervals to see how you are progressing and to adjust your treatment plan but if you require more support you are able to book more frequent appointments. Each individual patient is different but your physiotherapist will be able to give you an approximation of timescales based on similar experience.
